At True Lacrosse, we take pride in employing the best directors and coaches in the country. By doing this, we are able to give our players elite guidance and training, which is why we are so excited to announce our new director of True Michigan, Justin Shipp. He has spent the last five years with True Michigan with four as the Kalamazoo regional director and two as the operations director for all of Michigan, which is only one of the reasons he makes a perfect candidate for this position.
To say Shipp has a passion for the game may be an understatement. He is head coach of Westen Michigan University men’s lacrosse team that competes at the MCLA Dl level and is responsible for the creation of the South West Michigan Youth Lacrosse Conference. Shipp also once played lacrosse at WMU, and before being promoted to head coach at the university, Shipp coached lacrosse at both a youth and high school level.
Shipp is working to bring more opportunities and new ideas to True Michigan players and families while also improving things to make the overall program a better experience for all. He is already concentrating on offering more events to our True Michigan players with a second wave of tryouts coming in November for the Grand Rapids area and in December for the Detroit area. Those in the Grand Rapids area will get the chance to attend School of Lax very soon, along with Elite Academy training in both Grand Rapids and Detroit areas. And, be sure to mark your calendars for Nov. 7 because you won’t want to miss the Mighty Ducks Tryouts for Box Lacrosse in Grand Rapids.
We couldn’t be more excited for the new opportunities Director Shipp is bringing to our True Michigan players and families. As an organization, we work to bring the best to the best, and with promoting Justin to this role, we believe we’ve done just that.
